Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has dawned upon you. ~ Isaiah 60:1

In the darkness, in our stumbling and fumbling, we reach for what is at hand: man-made illumination. It is adequate; enough for us to dress and make our way out the door. Then the dawn breaks. The whole sky comes alight — bright colors are revealed, birds begin to sing — and we realize the dimness of what went before.
