Who Shall Dwell in the Holy Presence?

[The seeker asks:] Gracious God, who shall dwell in your holy Presence?

[The Voice replies:]

“The one who leads a blameless life and does what is right,
whose heart is true.

The one who lives without deceit, loving to friends, kind to strangers;
whose life is lived with compassion and patient watchfulness.

The one who takes delight in little things,
whose taste is for the simple pleasures,
appreciating the small gifts of each new day.

The one who stops to smell the roses, the trees, and the fence posts;
whose understanding is great and whose joy is boundless.

The one who does not give in order to receive,
but out of the fullness of an infinitely loving heart;
whose life is a blessing and presence is a comfort.

Whoever does these things shall never be cast away.”

(Therefore we can be assured; our four-footed angels enter heaven by the Express door… whereas we will have to rely on their good words for us when our time comes!)
