A Twilight Meditation

It is a holy time,
these in-between hours
when it is neither day
or night,
these in-between hours
when it is neither day
or night,
filled
with the both/and
of divine potential:
now anything is possible.
The blessed influence
fills the air;
even the weather
changes.
Gray Lady Wind
pauses, listening,
awaiting
the next note
of the sweet-voiced
dove’s lament
as it fades
into the sky.
The gentle touch
of the lingering light
brings a blush
to the dawdling clouds,
as suede-soft flowers
clasp their petals
preparing for
evening prayers.
In this peaceful moment,
within this sacred silence,
let my spirit share the holy stillness
and abide with you, my Lord.
