Mary’s Song

Luke 1:46b-55 ~ Mary’s Song

It is wonderful,
it is glorious,
it is good.

The Holy One –

the One Above All Others,
the Rider on the Clouds,
the Eternal,
King of the Cosmos;
the Loving Creator,
Gracious Sustainer,
the Foundation upon which
our world is built –

has noticed

me.

God could choose anybody:

a powerful king,
a holy priest,
a mighty warrior,
a brilliant scholar,
a wealthy merchant,
a beautiful woman,
anybody at all …

and God chose

me.

And that must be a good thing,
surely;

a blessing,
surely
everyone will agree;
and say so to one another.

Surely.

After all,
look at what God has done:
He drew our People to safety;
freeing us from slavery,
and guiding us through the desert
to a Land of Milk and Honey.

God has no patience
with the smug and self-satisfied,
the greedy, hateful, or the cruel;
but illuminates the spirits,
warms the hearts,
and blesses the lives
of those who do His will.

His faithfulness is perfect,
never failing or flagging;
and His power is invincible,
if God is with us we need not fear.

So it truly must be
a good thing
that God

has noticed

me.
